Back in January 2024, Standard Chartered said Bitcoin will reach 100k in 2024 and 200k in 2025. They were right about 2024. Will they also be right about 2025?
Time to find out.

1. BTC tops around 150k
Standard Chartered predicted a price of 200k for one Bitcoin in 2025 back in January 2024. I tweeted about it at that time, see below. I believe that is the optimistic scenario. Possible, but not as likely as say 150k.
Generally, I believe it’s good to be realistic and aim for targets that can actually get hit. Having targets that don’t get hit makes them redundant.
As such, 150k for one Bitcoin is a realistic target in 2025. The price may well go higher and there is a good chance it will. But definitely aim to book solid profits between 150k and 200k across your altcoins portfolio.
Try to be realistic in your targets. As for selling BTC, I leave that to you. Note that I expect Bitcoin to hit $1M within a decade from now.
2. ETH makes an ATH at over 5k
If you read my previous Alpha Newsletter #48, you’ll notice I dropped an important piece of information there and it’s related to Ethereum. Keep a very close eye on ETH and especially when it makes a new record price.
Its current all-time high is at $4,868. I expect this level to eventually be broken in 2025 as Ethereum moves above 5k.
How high will it go?
Hard to say, but I’d take good profits between 5k to 10k. Personally, I don’t expect Ethereum to hit five digits or 10k. It’s performance in 2024 was poor and any significant pump was sold into very fast.
Nevertheless, I suspect ETH will be among the last major coins to pump, and when it happens, it will be fast. Be ready to act then and also review all your altcoins that that time. The bear market may follow soon after BTC and ETH top.
3. Solana network crashes again
The reason I say this is because FOMO will take over the market again in 2025. Solana will see a spike in activity, and looking at the past, that usually breaks something in their network.
Generally, Solana network crashing is a bullish signal. Does that mean SOL price will pump? Not really. Solana’s tokenomics are extremely extractive with an infinite supply and high inflation.
Moreover, a lot of SOL tokens will end their vesting in March 2025 which could see millions of tokens be dumped. I suspect the VCs will aim to do that during a FOMO period so the price won’t be as affected.
However, the impact of that is that SOL’s price will not rally as fast as it would otherwise. Do not expect SOL to reach $1,000. I think even $500 is a high target in 2025.
4. XRP moves above $3
I did not expect XRP to 5x in a month back in November 2024. As one of the biggest and oldest coins, this was impressive.
The question is, who’s buying? Retail or dumb money!
Some of them actually believe XRP can go to $100 or more. This motivates them to buy at $3. However, without a good understanding of tokenomics, this is how most retail buyers are fooled.
XRP will never go so high because it simply has too many tokens and their team dumps them whenever the price pumps. Nevertheless, a price above $3 is realistic in 2025 and XRP could even break its all-time high from January 2018 at $3.3. If so, it could rally to $4-$5 in quick succession.
5. BNB hits $1,000
If you take an objective look at the top 10 coins, you will quickly notice that the top performers are Bitcoin and… Binance Coin. What do these coins have in common?
They both made an all-time high in 2024!
Ethereum, Cardano, XRP or Dogecoin did not. Solana did, but by a few dollars, so that does not count for much.
BNB’s current price record is $794, reached in early December 2024. I think a price above $1,000 is a no brainer in 2025. As long as the market stays bullish, BNB will perform since it’s backed by the biggest exchange there is, Binance.
6. ADA fails to make an all-time high in 2025
Cardano had all of 2024 to impress with a new all-time high. It failed. Moreso, it failed to even approach its current price record which stands at $3.1. The best it could do in 2024 was $1.3.
That’s not a great sign.
Can ADA pump more. Definitely. Can it make a new price record? Unlikely.
I’d be happy if it pulls an XRP move and does a 5x in a month, but I am not sure that ADA has the narrative for that. If it happens, make sure to sell into that pump because the drop after will be significant. Cardano crashed 92% in the last bear market.
7. The ATOM or Cosmos ecosystem is forgotten
Originally, the Cosmos ecosystem had a great thing going, but somehow they lost momentum and traction with the overall crypto market. Perhaps the reasons are the Terra Luna and Kujira implosions (or rugs) that erased billions.
Their users simply vanished to other places. With Ethereum Layer-2 networks like Arbitrum or Base growing and Solana dominating the meme space, there isn’t much left for Cosmos at this time.
Actually, most competing ecosystems struggle to catch up to Ethereum DeFi or Solana’s meme space. This includes Cardano.
8. CRV moves above $3
This token is like a phoenix. It dies in every bear market and then pumps hard again during each bull market. In 2024, CRV had a major breakout and moved above $1.
Considering it is still around $1 at the time of this post, I can totally see CRV move towards $3 which was a highly traded area in the last bull market. I don’t expect it to reach $6, but another 2-3x seems reasonable in 2025. In light of that, the risk/reward ratio here seems favorable.
9. RAT hits $100 million market capitalization
I expect meme tokens to rally hard again in 2025, especially on the Solana ecosystem where 99% of memes live. RAT Escape is very much part of that space and our current record is almost $16 million mcap.
The next wave could easily 10x the current RAT price which is around $7 million mcap right now. It does not take a lot of money to 10x a token with a market cap under $10 million. The risk/reward is very attractive and our fundamentals will attract new investors.
Moreover, RAT was recently listed on eight centralized exchanges (use our referral links) and when the next wave up comes, many new users will have an easy time buying it. This will further compound the next RAT rally.
Considering that 99% of Solana memes fail in the first 24h, RAT has come a long way. We continue to build and our community is growing faster than ever.
10. SUI hits $10
SUI is one of the hottest new ecosystems in crypto. It impressed with its price action in 2024 and likely will continue to do so in 2025. SUI almost reached $5 most recently and I can totally see it double from here still.
However, be careful about SUI’s tokenomics. It has 3 billion tokens in its circulating supply out of a total supply of 10 billion tokens. That means there are a lot of tokens waiting to be released on the open market.
If you ride the SUI pump, make sure to exit in full later in 2025.

BTC tops around 150k, be careful if it closes on 200k as seller may return
ETH makes an ATH over 5k, sell on the way to 10k if it gets there
SOL network crashes again, but that will be a bullish signal
XRP moves above $3. If it goes over $3.3 then $4 and $5 become likely
BNB hits $1,000. This is a no brainer bet considering Binance is behind
ADA fails to make an ATH. There is a long way to $3.1 still
ATOM ecosystem is forgotten. Users already moved on to other chains
CRV moves above $3 offering an attractive bet in early 2025

What's your view on a potential target for AAVE? It's been strong lately and being the OG DeFi ecosystem, I can see it doing well if the current admin regulates favorably towards DeFi (as they're suspected to do)
