TLDR: Bitcoin is less than 5% from its ATH at 109k. A push above this record price can happen at any time and in less than 24h. The question is when not if.
This week, Bitcoin took a much needed break after its most recent rally that saw its price move into six digits. This can also be seen by the thin body of this week’s candle. Eventually, I expect the price to start moving higher again.
The longer BTC is consolidating above 100k, the more bullish I become since it shows sellers are not interested in pushing back. Perhaps bears will return around 109k, but I don’t expect that resistance to hold long once BTC arrives there.
Simply put, this price action is bullish. Moreover, the momentum indicators like the MACD on the weekly timeframe, turned bullish in early May. This tells me that until the end of summer we should have a nice rally with new highs.
How high Bitcoin will go once it passes 109k depends on the volume and momentum, but 150k is a good target to have in mind for any sustained rally. Anyone shorting will likely be punished similarly to the period April-May.
Having said that, let’s look at the altcoin space which is also turning exciting!
