A high inflation, low interest rates environment is the perfect storm that can bring about an altcoin season. This is likely to start after mid-September as explained in this earlier post.
The end of 2025 will see FOMO return - get ready!
Be selective with the altcoins you choose to ride in the coming months and get your bag in order. Don’t delay, there’s not much time left.

Altcoin Season Soon?
If we exclude Bitcoin and Ethereum, we get the Total 3 index on TradingView. This shows the total market cap of altcoins minus ETH. As you can see, this index is now brushing against the $1.6 trillion resistance and has formed a huge cup and handle bottom which reminds me of gold before it rallied.
If the price breaks above $1.6 trillion, then the standard target for that rally will be the distance from the cup base to the top. That is a 3x in price with a target of around $4 trillion, see below.
While that is the ideal case, any breakout will likely see altcoins shoot up right, left, and center. A 3x does not sound like much, but that is the total market cap of altcoins and does not mean selected altcoins can’t 10x or even 100x in this period.
To know how high an altcoin can pump, just look at its current market cap. If it’s under $100 million, the potential for a 10x or more is high. If it’s already between $1 to $10 billion, then aim for much less like 2x-5x.
Remember that there is a limited amount of liquidity in the space and where that liquidity goes will determine which altcoins and ecosystems will pump the most.
A prime candidate for that is the Hyperliquid ecosystem which has been dominating the news lately with their USDH stablecoin competition to select an issuer.
Below I made a selection of altcoins and how high I think they can go.
Heavyweights - Top 20
Any altcoin in the top 20 like Ethereum, Solana, Dogecoin, Avax, or Hyperliquid has a realistic chance to double in price from today. This may be less so for altcoins like Binance Coin that already made a new record at $900 recently.
Either way, if you ride any of these coins, start taking profits after they double in price. Think of Ethereum under $10,000, Solana around $400, and Hype around $100. Big round numbers will always attract sellers.
Aiming for more than a 2x will be greedy with such alts, but it’s still possible with those like AVAX that did not pump much in 2025. Analyze each altcoin on its own merits and past price action. That will determine their potential in the months to come.
Midfield - Top 100
The midfield are those altcoins between $1 and $10 billion market cap or everything under the top 20. Good examples here include ENA, PUMP, AAVE, MNT, PENGU, TRUMP, ONDO, JUP or RAY.
These are mostly protocols or meme tokens building on top of ecosystem or blockchains in the top 20. Because of their lower market cap their upwards potential is much higher. A good target here would be a 2 to 5x in price.
When these altcoins pump, a lot of that is driven by hype and is not sustainable long term. This is why once the market sentiment turns, they simply crash down to erase most of the gains. Sell them in full during euphoria. Do not hold them.
Gems - Top 1000
These are altcoins with a market cap above $10 million. They have the best asymmetrical return potential and can easily 100x if you get lucky to ride one that takes off. Make sure to sell if that happens!
The secret to finding gems is being early on a new hype narrative. For example, I made a 200x on a frog jpeg last cycle. When I spot something good, I share it with our Patrons first like these Base ecosystem gems from this recent alpha post.
Finding gems is not easy and there is no right path. The risks are high and expect most bets to be lost money. Nevertheless, only one lucky pick can turn into massive profits. During altcoin season, the market is generous as everything will perform better than normal.
Other good examples include RAT Escape, DOODLE, GIGA, Resolv or GNS. These can 10x or more if they start to run again. RAT Escape did a 2,000x from its bonding on Pump Fun in late 2024 thanks to the Solana meme frenzy at that time.
Retail speculation can return at any time later this year if FOMO kicks in. Make sure you are positioned before it happens! Try to anticipate those liquidity waves and ride them. Then exit and wait for the next cycle.
